Ingredients
As I mentioned before, you only need three ingredients to make our Feijoa ice cream. How fantastic is that!
Feijoas

For this recipe, I am using fresh Feijoas from our garden.
If you have Feijoas in your freezer, you could use them, but I would recommend defrosting them first.
Don’t have any Feijoas? You could substitute them with other fruits like Mango, Strawberries, Cherries, and Raspberries, just to name a few.
Sweetened Condensed Milk
The sweetened condensed milk adds sweetness and a caramel-like flavor that enhances the aroma of the Feijoa.
You can use your favorite brand for this recipe.
Tip: Make sure to combine the condensed milk thoroughly with the whipped cream.
Whipped Cream
The third ingredient is cream, which we beat with a hand mixer until it is almost stiff. You know it’s ready when it forms soft peaks.
It is important not to beat the cream too long because it can quickly turn into butter.
Extra tip: Use a large bowl to whip the cream in. Also, the cream should be chilled.
How To Make Feijoa Ice Cream In A Few Simple Steps
Prepare The Feijoas

Cut the feijoas in half and scoop out the pulp with a spoon. Put it straight into a large measuring cup.
At this stage, you can add lemon juice to enhance the flavor of the Feijoa. It also helps prevent the fruit from discoloring.

Next up, use a stick blender to puree the Feijoas. Set them aside for later.
Preparing the Basic Mixture

In a large bowl, we whip the chilled cream until it forms soft peaks. Next, we add the sweetened condensed milk and mix them until well combined.
I recommend using an electric handmixer.

It’s now time to add the pureed feijoas to the mixture.

Carefully fold the puree into the mixture using a spatula, as I find this method works best.
Now, you can fill the ice cream mix into a freezable container with a lid.
Put the ice cream into the freezer and let it set for around 4 hours.
Enjoy!

Here is the best part: Scoop the ice cream into a bowl and serve with fresh sliced Feijoa and maybe some cream.
