Instructions
Cabbage Fritters
Finely chop the cabbage with a sharp knife. Put the cabbage into a large bowl, mix in the salt, and let it stand (covered) for around 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you can see the liquid that has been drawn out of the cabbage. Leave it in the bowl.
1/4 quarter cabbage, 1 tsp salt
Now add the carrot and coriander to the cabbage and mix well.
1 carrot, 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander
Stir the spices into the gram flour. Add the flour/spice mix to the vegetables and combine.
1 cup gram/chickpea flour), 1 tsp Turmeric, 1/4 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp smoked paprika
If the batter is too thick, add a little bit of water.
Heat some of the oil in a frying pan. Take a spoonful of the batter and place it into the pan. You should be able to fit three or four fritters at a time.
1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
Fry on both sides on medium heat until golden brown. It should take around 5 minutes.
Enjoy with our garlic dip and Naan bread on the side.
