I’m excited to share my best Brussels sprouts recipe with you.
In fact, this is my favorite method of cooking Brussels sprouts as well as other vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots.
Say goodbye to gray and overcooked sprouts! In under 10 minutes, you can enjoy this delicious vegetable perfectly cooked, retaining its vibrant green color while being tender and flavorful.
This easy Brussels sprouts recipe will convert even the biggest sceptics. Brussels sprouts make an excellent side dish for any meat dish, or they can be served simply alongside boiled waxy potatoes.

Make The Best Brussels Sprouts Recipe In A Few Simple Steps

Enjoy our tender and flavorful Brussels sprouts as a side dish, or serve them alongside boiled waxy potatoes.
Step 1 – Prepare The Brussels Sprouts

First off, wash the Brussels sprouts and remove any old outer or loose leaves. Also, cut of the bottom of the stem.
For faster and even cooking, I recommend halving each Brussels sprout.
Step 2 – Seasoning And Cooking

In a heavy frying pan ( I am using an enamel cast iron skillet), heat either avocado oil or olive oil.
Add the Brussels sprouts and season with salt, freshly ground pepper, and chili flakes (optional).
Sauté the Brussels sprouts for about 2 minutes. Add water, cover, and let them steam for 5 minutes.
Step 3 – The Final Touches

Take the lid of and add butter and finely chopped garlic. Sauté again for a couple more minutes before putting the lid on once again.
After 2 minutes, the Brussels sprouts are perfectly cooked.
Serve them hot, garnished with chopped parsley, alongside your favorite meat dish or on their own.
Extra Tip
Once you add the garlic, you can add chopped bacon (for non-vegetarians). It makes this side dish very rich and adds, of course, different flavors.
